Wood Surface Stain Decor Beitz 0.9l

Water-soluble acrylic stain for interior use. Used for tinting wood surfaces. Unlike paint, the natural structure of the wood remains visible. It is used for treating walls and ceilings, doors, floors, skirting boards, furniture elements and other wood surfaces indoors. To increase surface wear resistance, stained surfaces should be coated with wax or wood lacquer (Cabinet, Mööblilakk). Stained floors and stairs must be lacquered or waxed (Parketilakk, MarineLakk).
Properties:

Absorbs well, highlighting the wood grain

Dries quickly

The colour tone remains deep and rich

Maximum VOC content in the ready-to-use product < 130 g/l

Colour - colourless, tintable in the Eskarocolor system (WoodColor colour chart)

Coverage 8 - 16 m²/l

Package volume 0.9 l

Application:
The wood surface must be dry (moisture content below 20%) and free from grease, oil, wax, dust and other contaminants. Remove previously lacquered or painted surfaces. Lightly moisten a new wood surface with a stream of water, allow it to dry and sand down any raised wood fibres (sandpaper no. 220 - 240). Remove sanding dust.

Before use, and occasionally during work, stir the stain thoroughly. It is recommended to mix all the tinted stain needed to cover all surfaces in one container. Apply 1 coat to the surface with a sponge, brush, roller or sprayer at a temperature of +10 to +28°C and relative humidity below 80%. For a lighter shade, dilute the stain with water. A more saturated tone is achieved by applying a second coat to the already treated surface after it has dried. To avoid differences in tone, we recommend applying the stain to the surface without interruption along the wood grain from edge to edge. When treating large plank surfaces, several planks must be painted simultaneously; use stain diluted with water (up to 1:1). Avoid applying thick layers and avoid overpainting. After application, before it dries, wipe off the stain with a cloth or sponge so that the surface remains practically dry. Painting in direct sunlight, in a draught, at elevated temperatures or in dusty areas may cause defects on the treated surface. To check the suitability of the colour tone, it is recommended to carry out a test on a separate small wood surface. The final colour of the surface being treated depends on the type of wood, the number of coats applied, the number of knots, and the chosen colour. Before applying the next coat to the surface, it is recommended to sand the dried surface with fine sandpaper and carefully remove sanding dust.

Maintenance of the treated surface depends on the type of lacquer or wax used to coat the painted surface. The surface can be gently cleaned 3 weeks after treatment using a soft, damp cloth. Do not use organic solvents, abrasive cleaning agents or rough sponges and brushes.

Drying time at least 6 hours at 20°C and 80% relative humidity before applying a second coat or lacquering.
