Oil Radish Seeds 1kg, for Green Manure

Oil radishes are suitable for cultivation as green manure plants, due to their large green mass and deep root system. The plant is notable for its fast growth: 35–40 days after germination it produces 25–30 t/ha of green mass. In terms of soil selection, oil radishes are suitable for cultivation in sandy loam and sandy soils. Root diameter 2–3 cm, depth up to 60–80 cm. Stem height 80–120 cm, heavily branched, with strong foliage in the first half of the growing season. Flowers are white, of various shades. The fruit is a silique 4–8 cm long, containing 6–8 seeds. Oil radishes do not require high temperatures for germination and mass formation. Germination requires a temperature of 3–4 degrees, and they can withstand temperatures down to -6 degrees during spring frosts. The optimal germination temperature is 7–9 degrees. When used as green manure, oil radishes increase the biological activity of the soil; the roots release phytoncides that perform phytosanitary work in the soil. Growing oil radishes for green mass incorporation provides the opportunity to increase the quantity and quality of organic matter in the soil. Seeding rate: 25 kg/ha. Sowing depth: 2–3 cm. Recommended incorporation time: at the very beginning of flowering.
