Seeds Turnip Golden Ball.<br>Turnips are fast-growing, cold-resistant root vegetables. The early harvest at the beginning of summer is used for fresh consumption, while turnips harvested in autumn store well for a long time. For early harvest, sow in March–April; for autumn harvest, sow in mid-July. Vegetation period 45–65 days. Seeds germinate at +2 to +30°C. Seedlings tolerate frost down to -3°C, and mature plants down to -8°C. The optimal temperature for turnip growth is +15 to +18°C. Consistent moisture supply is important. Turnips 5–8 cm in diameter are harvested before frost, cutting off the leaves without damaging the crown. Turnips have low caloric content and excellent nutritional value. They contain many minerals, carotene, and vitamins C and PP. Suitable for diabetics.
