Gypsum boards must be firmly and correctly fixed to the frame. Cut and end-edge gypsum board joints are primed with Knauf Tiefengrund. Spackling is only possible if it is ensured that the boards will not be subject to significant deformation due to temperature and humidity fluctuations. Gypsum board joints in ceiling structures are recommended to be filled only with Knauf Uniflott spackle.</p><p>Sieve the material into clean cold water, slightly below the water level (max. 2.5 kg per 1.2L of water). Allow the material to swell for a couple of minutes and mix with a trowel to a creamy, firm consistency. When filling gypsum board joints, if necessary, reinforcing tape can be placed in the joints. The second coat can only be applied once the first coat has dried. Screw heads or other fixings must also be filled. Do not use material that has started to set. It is recommended to apply at least 2 layers of spackle to the joints depending on the required surface smoothness. After filling the joints, after approx. 50 min., excess material can be removed from the joint edges with a spatula. In the second stage, use a trowel or wider spatula to create a smooth transition to the board surface. After drying, sand the joint with a sanding machine or a hand sanding block. Working time with the prepared spackle – approximately 45 minutes. Room and substrate temperature must not be lower than +10 °C.</p>
