White mustard seeds for green manure 0.5 kg. White mustard can be grown for seeds used in the food industry, however, it can provide more benefits in agriculture. White mustard can serve as a support crop for peas or vetches. It is also very valuable for maintaining the phytosanitary condition of the soil (destroys nematodes); crops grown after it (especially root crops) produce larger yields. As a cover crop, white mustard grows a large amount of green mass which, when worked into the soil, improves its quality. The green mass yield depends on the soil, moisture, and warmth. The green mass should be ploughed under when it is at its greatest, i.e., during the flowering period of the plants. White mustard prefers good soils. It is suitable as a pre-sowing crop – for potatoes fertilised with manure, clover, grain crops, and mixtures of cereal and legume crops. Before sowing, the soil is ploughed to a depth of 20–25 cm. Sowing can be done earlier in warmed and dried soil. Fertilise with P 30–60 and K 60–100 kg/ha. Protection from weeds is provided by harrowing between the rows a couple of times until the foliage covers the soil surface. Recommended seeding rate for seed cultivation: 12–17 kg/ha. Recommended seeding rate for green manure: 20–25 kg/ha.
