To protect the joints not located on the frame from the effects of weather conditions, a wooden batten must be nailed underneath the joint, to which the board ends are fixed. The boards are fastened with nails or staples. Nailing of the windbreak boards is made easier by the longitudinal stripe located in the centre of the board. Hot-dip galvanised nails at least 70 mm long, preferably with wide heads, or staples at least 58 mm long are used. The distance of nails or staples from the board edge must be at least 10 mm.
