Both the wallpaper and the adhesive must be warmed to the same temperature. The surface must be dry, smooth, firm and clean. Particularly porous surfaces should be primed with water-diluted adhesive before bonding. Painted surfaces must be sanded, washed (e.g. with Kiilto Maalarinpesu) and thoroughly rinsed before bonding.
Follow the wallpaper manufacturer's instructions. Apply the adhesive to the substrate, for example with a paint roller, over an area large enough to hang 1 – 2 wallpaper strips. Wallpaper is hung using the so-called wet bonding method. Lay the strips very closely next to each other. Fresh adhesive stains should be wiped off immediately with a damp cloth or sponge. Vigorous rubbing may damage the colour or sheen of the wallpaper. Wall painting may be carried out no earlier than 24 hours after the wallpaper has been applied. When bonding fabric wallpapers on a paper backing whose surface pattern is formed by unidirectional threads, the adhesive must be applied to the wallpaper.
