Previously varnished glossy surfaces should be sanded to a matte finish and sanding dust carefully removed. The moisture content of the surface to be varnished must not exceed 12%. Rough wood surfaces should be lightly moistened, allowed to dry and the raised fibres sanded down, then sanding dust thoroughly removed. For previously varnished surfaces, it is recommended to perform a compatibility test on a small area. Sanding should be done along the wood grain, starting from the bottom, and after each sanding pass, dust must be carefully removed from the surface, floor and surrounding areas. Clean wood surfaces should be primed with a special wood primer or diluted parquet varnish (10 - 15%).

Recommended air temperature +18 to +25°C, varnish temperature +15 to +25°C, relative humidity 40 - 75%. Varnishing in direct sunlight, in a draught or at high temperatures may cause defects.

Before use and during application, stir the varnish thoroughly, avoiding the formation of bubbles, to evenly distribute the gloss additive. Apply 2 – 3 coats with a roller or 4 – 5 coats with a spatula, varnishing along the wood grain in a continuous coat. It is recommended to start floor varnishing in the direction of the light and to cover the entire floor at once. Lightly sand the first coat with fine sandpaper (No. 240) and carefully remove dust; inter-coat sanding is not required. Apply the next coat only after the previous coat has fully dried. The number of varnish coats depends on the porosity of the wood, the tool used and the desired wear resistance. Do not exceed 2 coats per day and allow the previous coat to dry for at least 12 hours before applying the next. If the surface requires colouring, use Wood Lasur Aqua or Decor Beitz as the first coat, then apply Parquet Varnish WE.

Floors intended for intensive use should preferably be made of hardwood. Softwoods, such as spruce or pine, may deform even after varnishing. During varnishing, maintain consistent humidity, temperature and good ventilation, avoiding draughts. In dry, hot rooms, reduce ventilation to avoid too-rapid drying, which may cause defects in the varnish layer.

Drying time at 20ºC and 65% relative humidity, when applied with a paint spatula, 0.5 - 1 hour; with a roller 1 - 2 hours. The time between applying the primer and the subsequent varnish coat on the surface is at least 12 hours. The varnished surface becomes wear-resistant after 1 - 2 weeks. After that, water and, if necessary, neutral or mildly alkaline (pH 6 - 8) cleaning agents and a soft cloth or sponge may be used for surface cleaning. Do not use organic solvents, abrasive cleaning agents or rough sponges or brushes.

Work tools – varnish roller, varnish spatula (stainless steel). Use high-quality tools. A varnish roller, even a new one, must be cleaned of loose fibres before use. Work tools must be clean, dry and free of loose parts (roller fibres). Tools are cleaned with water.

To achieve maximum strength, the recommended varnish consumption is 3 - 3.5 m²/l (300 g/m²)
