Previously varnished or glossy surfaces must be sanded to a matte finish and the moisture content of the wood must not exceed 20%. The recommended surface temperature is +5 to +25°C, relative humidity 40 – 75%. It is not recommended to varnish in direct sunlight, drafts, or at elevated temperatures. Especially dirty surfaces should be washed with EasyClean; in the case of mold, use Biotol E. Surfaces must be allowed to dry before varnishing. If the surface has been varnished with a water-based lacquer, remove the old lacquer completely. Previously varnished surfaces do not require priming; bare wood can be primed with a mixture of lacquer and white spirit (5:1).

Stir the lacquer thoroughly and apply with a brush, palette knife, or spray along the wood grain, in a continuous coat from edge to edge. Apply 2 – 3 coats, allowing drying time between coats. Before applying the second coat, lightly sand the surface and remove dust. Perform a test varnish application to check the color shade. During varnishing, ensure uniform humidity and ventilation, avoiding drafts to prevent defects. The final surface color will depend on the type of wood and the number of varnish coats.

Drying time – 4 hours, recoating after 24 hours at 23°C and 50% relative humidity. At lower temperatures and higher humidity, drying time increases. The varnished surface reaches wear resistance after 2 weeks. To clean the surface, use water and, if necessary, neutral or mildly alkaline (pH 6 – 8) detergents and a soft cloth or sponge. Do not use organic solvents, abrasive cleaning agents, or rough sponges or brushes.

Working tools – brush, lacquer roller, lacquer spatula. Use high-quality tools. A lacquer roller, even a new one, must be cleaned of loose roller fibers before use. Tools must be clean, dry, and free of loose parts (brush or roller fibers). Clean tools immediately after varnishing with white spirit.
